Quilting By The Yard has invited Vic Dadika, the Sales Manager for Northcott/Monarch Fabrics to our shop on Saturday, June 7, for an informative and fabulous event! Northcott is one of the top fabric manufacturers supporting the QUEST FOR A CURE cause and are a leading source for some of the most beautiful and quality fabrics on our shelves. You will get the chance to learn what the fabric production and buying pocess is all about with one of our favorite fabric manufacturers. See first hand, just how hard it is to choose from such beautiful fabrics and follow a Budget too!

You will get to vote on the new Northcott fabric lines coming out and have your say in what fabric will arrive at Quilting By The Yard!

Vic will have gifts for you as well as great door prizes. We will have refreshments (and chocolate)! Also, as a thank you for attending, QBTY will give you a 25% off all Northcott fabrics in the store that day!

Space is limited and pre-registration is a must! We are offering two sessions, one from 10-12 and the other from 1:30-3:30. The cost is $5.00, which will be returned to you in the form of a merchandise certificate to be used in the store that day. Please stop by to register and to specify morning or afternoon.

2008 Cape Cod Retreat

Our plans are made for the fall retreat to the Cape Codder Resort in Hyannis, MA.
We are offering two different options again this year. Option One is where you come about 3:00 on Friday, November 7th and stay until about 5:00 on Sunday, November 9th. This option includes about 50 hours of sewing time, 2 breakfasts, 2 lunches and 2 dinners. It also includes the mystery if you opt to do that, and a class with Michelle and Laura if you opt to do that. The cost this year of Option One is $455.00 per person double occupancy.

Option Two means you can start sewing at 5:00 pm on Thursday, November 6, includes the extra night of lodging but does not include any extra meals. Everything from Option One is also included. The cost of Option Two is $525.00 per person double occupancy.

A $100.00 deposit will hold your spot. After that you can pay any amount any time with the entire balance being due by Oct. 1st. You can sign up on the web site through the class schedule.

We are working on a second retreat for May 2009. When plans are finalized, they will be on the web site.

Thangles Fat Quarter Club
Quilting By The Yard has a new Thangles Fat Quarter Club project beginning in July, 2008. This one is called Milky Way and is made up of two different size stars on an off white background. The stars will be in shades of golds, greens, browns and coral. This is a very striking quilt and will be in the shop by the first of June. The cost of the kits are: July: $56.00 and August: $45.00.

Buck A Block
A new Thangles Buck A Block program will begin on July 1, 2008. We don't have much information about this years new program yet except that we will be using 1 3/4 inch Thangles and it will be set on point when it is finished. We will give more details once we receive the information from Thangles!
